Our final season championship games will be held on Saturday June 12 at 10 AM, and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone in this great League for enduring the Covid protocols, distancing and wearing masks. We will present the Championship trophies for all 4 baseball divisions on the Minor field following the games, which will be around 12:30 PM. After the Championship trophy presentations, I will have all team presentations which will include an Alameda Little League beanie for each player in the Baseball Divisions, plus the Wootten and Matteucci Awards. There will be no formal Closing Ceremonies due to the fact that we would have too many people in one place. Next year we will resume with our traditional Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Farm and T-ball conclude their great seasons on Sunday June 13th, and I will have the participation trophies for them, as well as the Wootten Awards. Each Manager should be sure to find me if I haven’t found you, but I will try to distribute all the trophies at your games.
Alameda Little League’s player retention from 2020 was over 80%, higher than any League in our District and maybe in our region. I want to thank all the members of the Board who worked tirelessly to make it successful for the kids. We are a volunteer non-profit organization, and we have a lot to be thankful for in having great fields, good coaching from the moms and dads who volunteer, and fantastic managing from our Managers who lead the teams. It takes a great community to make a great program, and we have proven that we have both!
