Scrimmage and Game Protocols - COVID-19

March 7th, 2021

Please note that effective immediately and until further notice, the following requirements for players and spectators must be adhered to, for all scrimmages and games.

Players and Coaches (includes manager)

  • A maximum of four (4) players shall occupy the dugout at any one time.
  • Remaining players on the team who are not on the field must remain on the spectator bleachers.
  • All players' equipment, i.e., bags, bats, gear, etc., are not to be placed in the dugout.  Instead, players' equipment shall be placed against and along the fences, so their equipment is accessible throughout the game or scrimmage but is out in the open and spaced 6 feet apart from each other.
  • All adult Managers and coaches shall always wear masks and keep a distance the required 6 feet.
  • The Umpire calling balls and strikes shall be behind the pitcher only. Umpires will also wear masks.

Parents/ Spectators

  • Spectator bleachers in the infield must not be used by parents and spectators.  These are reserved for the players during games and scrimmages.
  • All parents and spectators must watch games and scrimmages from the outfield areas, i.e., beyond the foul lines in left field and right field, or beyond the outfield fences.
  • A Scorekeeper from each team will be allowed in the score booths of the Major and Minor Fields.
  • Masks are to be worn and social distancing observed.

These protocols will be reviewed and updated as the Alameda County risk and status level evolves.
