Hello everyone.
Words can not express how grateful and appreciative we are with the outpouring of your love and support we've experienced the last couple of weeks. This is the most painful thing one could ever imagine and having good friends and the community there to lend a hand and celebrate our beautiful son's memory means so much to us. Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts.
Scanlan's Celebration of Life Service is on pause until we can gather and celebrate in a way we know Scanlan would have wanted. We'll keep you posted as more details become available. This said, we are honoring his life in other ways in the short term.... To include:
- Scanlan Davis Derrick's Tribute page can be found here - https://www.greermortuary.com/tributes/Scanlan-Derrick Friends and kids can post a picture or a short note should they wish
- Lincoln Middle School will have his name on their marquee over his birthday weekend - Sept 19-21
- Alameda High School will display a remembrance of Scanlan on the AHS website this month and have students do a piece about him for their weekly video newscast that is televised for all students during the Wednesday advisory periods, tentatively slated for September 23.
- Scanlan's obit will run in this Sunday's (8/13) SF Chronicle
Thank you again for your love, beautiful cards, flowers, fun pictures, and memories of Scanlan and great food..... You hold a very special place in our hearts! Please know your kids are always welcome in our home as they meant the world to Scanlan... I know this is hard on them as well.
