We have been receiving questions about our procedures for practices and generally our plans for proceeding with the League. Our official position is that we cannot violate State of California and County of Alameda Health Department regulations which currently only allow groups of 12 to be in one location together. That means no games yet, just practices with ONE group. Once it is announced that we may go to the next phase, we will react to the guidelines in place then.
Regarding practices, we have posted our protocols which are on our website, and will require that Managers and coaches sign an awareness form and that parents sign a waiver. Managers are instructed to keep these forms in their Manager Manual along with the Code of Conduct and Medical Releases.
This Pandemic has taught us a lot, but most important we will all have to observe social distancing protocols. Parents must self-enforce the protocol that advises them to have their child in only one group. Alameda Little League cannot possibly enforce this, parents must. And in general, we should all enforce the protocols on ourselves so that others do not have to remind each other about distancing. Please work with us on this so that we may teach our children how to live with this difficult situation.
